Halloween

I've been looking forward to Ian's first Halloween, well, since he was born back in April! I even lined up a whole Boeckman-family costume theme: Star Wars. I love the movies, Matthew loves the movies ... Ian will love the movies (when he can sit up, stop drooling and understand what's going on on-screen).

However, this Halloween, Ian had other plans. He woke us up around 11:30 Friday night crying in his crib. I went in to give him a pacifier and that's when I discovered he'd thrown up. EVERYWHERE. And thus began 24 hours of "viral gastroenteritis." We had to take him to urgent care on Saturday to get the vomiting to stop - poor little guy.

So by the time Halloween itself rolled around, we weren't really in the costume mood. We dressed the little guy up for some photos, went over to our next door neighbor's house for a quick pre-trick-or-treating chili dinner, then headed back to our house to dispense boatloads of candy to the neighborhood kids. Ian was in bed by his usual time, blissfully unaware that Halloween is mommy's favorite holiday, EVER.

There's always next year!
