Crawling, or Something Like It

Almost 8 months old, and starting to creep! Ian has perfected the log-roll method of getting where he wants to go, but in the last week he's started "creeping" - moving on his own, but not actually crawling on all fours.

Problem is, Ian can only creep backwards. No forward motion just yet (although his teacher thinks he'll have that down by the New Year). We've sat Ian on his playmat in the living room two times now, only to check on him and find this:

He's "creeped" himself backwards under the chair, and can't get out. Time to invest in a playpen.
